About EastLake Educational Foundation
Dedicated to supporting youth and education

We are pleased to introduce you to the EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF), a 501 C-3 non-profit foundation* established in 1995 with the mission of raising funds to support the highest quality educational opportunities in the public schools within the EastLake community.

Since our inception the EEF has been successful in bringing together businesses, local residents, school staff and families in supporting our mission and have provided nearly $1,000,000 for our six public schools.

Last year the EEF granted a total of $175,000 to our neighborhood schools: EastLake Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Arroyo Vista Charter Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, EastLake Middle, and Eastlake High.

Typically, grant monies are used to develop or enhance technology programs at each school. The majority of our funding has gone toward program development, equipment, and enhancements for technology services at the schools—programs that are either poorly funded through traditional means or have no existing funding base through the public school districts. Monies have even been provided for the salaries of technology resource personnel when budgetary constraints have threatened the continuation of programs at the schools.

Sources of revenue for the EEF have included private grants as well as business/corporate and individual monetary donations and sponsorships and participation in various fund raising events and activities. The EEF has established three particularly successful fundraising events that have become anticipated and well supported activities within the EastLake community:

Annual fall Golf Tournament (held annually in August)
Gala Dinner/Auction (held annually in September)
Annual Cycle EastLake! regional bicycling tour (held annually in May)

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the EEF and our successes to date, an Endowment Fund was established in 2005 to ensure support of our schools for years to come. The Board of Directors is committed to contributing a minimum of 10% of annual earnings to the Endowment.

We are proud that the EEF is recognized by the local school districts, our school principals, staff, parents, residents and businesses as being not only an important financial supporter of our schools, but a true partner in creating strong community involvement in education.

Members of our Board of Directors, all volunteers, live in the community, have a strong commitment to our mission and dedicate many volunteer hours in our on-going support of our public schools. Our roster of Board of Directors is available here.
